Governance

Chairperson: Amalie Malmgren Asmild.

She joined the organization as a member in 2019 and was elected Chairperson of the M-Tafsiri Africa Organization in Kenya in March 2025. Until 2025 she was part of the executive team where she contributed to the implementation of several projects. Her background is in the creative industry.

Secretary: Maria Nene.

She joined the organization as a member in 2023 and was elected the secretary of the M-Tafsiri Africa Organization in Kenya in March 2025. Her background is in media and communication.

Treasure: Peter Agure.

He joined the organization as a board member in 2023 and has also served as its treasurer since that same year. He is an accredited accountant. Peter's tasks in M-Tafsiri include bookkeeping, budgeting, financial reporting, tax compliance, audit coordination, and financial planning. His expertise lies in ensuring financial transparency, implementing internal control systems, and providing detailed financial analysis to support organizational growth and sustainability.

Executive Director: Reagan Oduor Nyachieng’a

He is the founder and executive director of M-Tafsiri Africa, an organization dedicated to cultural and creative initiatives. Reagan is a versatile freelance musician, percussionist, teacher, and instrument builder with 25 years of experience in the cultural and creative sector. Deeply committed to his heritage, he strives to empower underprivileged Kenyan youth through creative expression, music, and the exchange of cultural knowledge. His background spans social work, project management, and community development. In recognition of his dedication to Kenya's creative industry and his impact in Nordic countries, Reagan received the prestigious Talanta award in December 2024 in Kenya from the state department for diaspora affairs. Reagan finds fulfillment in fostering cross-cultural connections and building relationships that M-Tafsiri Africa nurtures and shares with its partner communities. These efforts aim to enhance the capacity of youth and the community to achieve self-sufficiency across various fields.

Organizer for GFME: Nyambura Mungai

She is the organizer of the Global folk Music exchange camp. She is passionate about the development of the creative and cultural industries in the African continent. She is responsible for resource mobilization, developing partnerships and fundraising, connecting artists and resources and curating live cultural experiences.

Grant writer and organizer for GFME: Kefa Ngalama

He is Co-Founder of M-Tafsiri Africa Association in Sweden. He is the treasurer of M-Tafsiri Africa association in Sweden and is the liaison officer of grants writing, developing partnerships and organizer of Global Folk Music Exchange camp-Kenya 2025. Kefas background is in administration.
